Sun Route – Puno to Cusco

Embark on a breathtaking journey through the heart of the Andes along the legendary Sun Route (Ruta del Sol) — a scenic and cultural corridor that connects the mystical highland city of Puno, gateway to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world; to the historic city of Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire.

This full-day route spans approximately 390 kilometers and offers a unique opportunity to explore some of Peru’s most fascinating historical, archaeological, and natural sites. Along the way, travelers are treated to impressive landscapes, traditional Andean towns, and remarkable monuments that trace the cultural evolution from the Inca civilization to the Spanish colonial era.

The bus departs at 7am with the trip taking around 10 hours. We will stop along the way visiting historical sites including:

  • Lithic Museum of the Pukará culture
  • La Raya pass (a road between Cusco and Puno, with a beautiful view of the Chimboya Glacier)
  • Temple of Wiracocha
  • Sistine Chapel of the Americas or the Andahuaylillas church

Along the way we will also stop for lunch at a touristic restaurant with a buffet style menu. We will arrive in Cusco at around 17.00 pm.
