Itinerary

  • DAY 1: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

We will pick you up at the airport, bus station or hotel in Puerto Maldonado and take you to the office to brief you on the excursion. Here you can use the internet and restrooms, and we will take you to a nearby restaurant where you can have breakfast, which is included, before embarking on the adventure.

At 10 a.m., we will walk seven minutes to the port, where we will take a boat to our lodge, located approximately 40 minutes up the Madre de Dios River. Here, we will be in close contact with nature and have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of animals. We will check into our rooms (single, double, and triple).

Our first activity is an introductory walk to familiarise ourselves with the surroundings. This gentle walk offers a first glimpse into the rich biodiversity of the forest, guiding you along shaded trails lined with tropical plants and curious animal tracks. As you move through the cool, earthy pathways, you’ll learn about the ecosystem’s unique flora and fauna while experiencing the calm and beauty of nature up close.

1:00 p.m.: We will enjoy our lunch.
4:00 p.m.: We will try our luck fishing in the river and then take the boat and embark on an exciting search for caimans along the banks of the imposing Madre de Dios River.

Then we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our chef. With our stomachs full, we will have free time to rest.

  • DAY 2: LAGO SANDOVAL
Today we will visit at 10:00am for a day exploring Lake Sandoval, located in the Tambopata National Reserve. It is the best way to see nature in its natural habitat, including macaws, parrots, other bird species, monkeys, otters, and caimans, just to name a few. We will also have the opportunity to learn about different species of plants, many of which are used as natural medicines.

Lunch on this day will be served at a lodge located within the Tambopata National Reserve, on Lake Sandoval.

Then we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our chef. With our stomachs full, we will have some free time to rest before participating in our evening activity, where we will take a night walk around our lodge to see the animals that come out at night.

  • DAY 3: ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES, MONKEY ISLAND & KAYAK

Today’s activity will begin at 11:30 a.m., when we will climb an observation tower that will allow us to see the jungle from a different perspective, about 30 metres above ground level. The bridges allow us to appreciate nature from a great height, where we will have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms, you can observe different species of birds such as toucans and macaws.

After breakfast, get ready for a fun and challenging activity, located 30 metres above the ground, among the trees. That’s right, we’re going zip-lining! For this activity, an instructor will guide us and advise us on how to use the safety harness before we begin the activity and feel the adrenaline rush of gliding through the trees.

After lunch in the afternoon, we will visit Monkey Island, located on the Madre de Dios River. On the island, you can find many different species of monkeys, such as the brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, saddleback tamarin, and white capuchin. We will also have time to kayak down the river.

Then we will head back to Puerto Maldonado, arriving around 5pm.
