We recommend you bring:
You will be picked-up at the airport, bus station or hotel and transferred to Capybara Hostel where you can have breakfast and drop off your belongings.
From here we will head to Lake Sandoval, located in the National Reserve of Tambopata. It is the best way to see nature in its natural habitat including macaws, parrots, other bird species, monkeys, otters, caimans just to name a few. We will also have the opportunity to learn about different plant species, many of which are used as natural medicines. The experience includes an easy walk along a wooden bridge for around 1 hour until we reach the lake, where we will canoe through the calm waters, observing monkeys, birds, caimans and with luck giant otters.
Lunch this day will be served at a lodge located inside the National Reserve of Tambopata, on lake Sandoval.
After soaking in this awe-inspiring display of Amazonian wildlife, we will head back to the lodge for a good rest and dinner.
After dinner, we’ll gather around the campfire — one of the most anticipated experiences by our visitors. Under a blanket of stars deep in the jungle, we’ll listen to captivating local stories from the Amazon.
We’ll then head back to the lodge for a well-earned lunch and some time to relax.
At around 4.00pm we will take part in our sunset afternoon activity where we will take a boat onto the Tambopata river to visit a “jungle beach” (not during rainy season) to see the sunset. We will also search for caimans, sloths, snakes and capybaras. We will return to the lodge at around 7.00pm when dinner will be served.
In the morning we will visit Monkey Island, locally known as Isla de los Monos, is a captivating sanctuary located in the Madre de Dios region of Peru’s Amazon rainforest. This island serves as a refuge for various monkey species, offering visitors a unique opportunity to observe these primates in their natural habitat and provide them with bananas, which they love to snack on!
Next, we’ll hit the river for a kayaking adventure — the perfect way to explore the jungle from a whole new angle and spot some amazing wildlife along the way! This will be followed by a delicious and well deserved lunch.
Now it’s time to get your adrenaline pumping! We’ll climb a 28-meter-high tower, then make our way across a 120-meter-long canopy bridge with epic jungle views. And for the grand finale — a heart-pounding, 190-meter zip line ride through the treetops! Get ready to fly through the jungle!
After this memorable experience we will take our transport back to Puerto Maldonado, arriving at around 4.30pm-5pm where you will be dropped off in the center, airport or bus terminal.
